About Us

IsLegitOrNot helps people answer one question before they spend money online: is this website legit or not?

Every day thousands of new online shops appear, and many of them exist only to take payments and disappear. Reviews on the shop's own pages can be invented, and a padlock in the browser proves nothing about the seller. We combine automated technical checks with independent reviews from real customers, so you can see the full picture in one place.

What we check

• Domain age: scam sites are usually only weeks old.
• HTTPS certificate: whether the connection is encrypted with a valid certificate.
• Reachability and server details: whether the site is actually online.
• Risk patterns: extensions and words that appear frequently in fraudulent domains.
• Google Safe Browsing: known phishing and malware listings.
• User reviews: what people experienced after ordering.

Our promise

We do not accept payment from any website to change its score or remove reviews. Trust scores are automated estimates and can be wrong in both directions. Always combine them with your own judgement.
