How We Calculate Trust Scores
Every website starts at 50 points. Each signal we find moves the score up or down. The result is capped between 0 and 100.
| Signal | Points |
|---|---|
| Well-known, established brand (verified by our team) | +20 |
| Domain registered 5+ years ago | +25 |
| Domain 2 to 5 years old | +15 |
| Domain about 1 year old | +5 |
| Domain 6 to 12 months old | −10 |
| Domain under 6 months old | −20 |
| Valid HTTPS certificate | +10 |
| No valid HTTPS certificate | −15 |
| Website unreachable | −15 |
| Domain does not resolve | −25 |
| Flagged by Google Safe Browsing | −40 |
| Not flagged by Google Safe Browsing | +5 |
| Extension often used by scam sites (.top, .xyz, .shop, .icu…) | −10 |
| Bait words in the domain (free, cheap, outlet, replica…) | −5 each, max −15 |
| Multiple hyphens, numbers, or a very long name | −3 to −5 |
User reviews
Once a website has at least three approved reviews, the final score is 60% automated checks + 40% average user rating. This way real customer experiences can raise a young shop or lower a polished-looking scam.
Verdicts
- 75 to 100: Likely Legit
- 50 to 74: Use Caution
- 0 to 49: High Risk
Limits
Automated checks cannot see product quality, delivery times or customer service. A high score means we found no technical red flags, not that you will be happy with your order. A low score for a new but honest shop is possible, which is why reviews matter. Our team can also set a score manually when we have verified a business.
